“Maybe We Were Stars” is more than a book. It is a meditation on light, memory, and the fragments we leave behind. Written across quiet nights and endless thoughts, it explores what it means to exist between worlds, between what was and what could have been.
This project began as a whisper, a small idea that grew into something that connects language, art, and emotion. Both the English and Portuguese editions carry their own voice, but share one soul.
António Paulo Pugliese Martins is a multidisciplinary creator whose work moves between writing, sound, and visual art. Through silence and light, he searches for meaning in the fragile distance between presence and memory.
His creative journey began with a fascination for the invisible, the things we feel but cannot name. Over time, that fascination evolved into “Maybe We Were Stars”, a reflection on time, consciousness, and the light that continues to travel long after its source has faded.
António’s work is not about answers but about questions that linger. Each project is an attempt to capture a brief shimmer of eternity within the ordinary moments of being alive.

I keep searching for the light that lingers just beyond the edge of what I understand. I follow it through silence, through words, through the small moments that make me feel alive.
Even when the path fades, I move forward, hoping that somewhere ahead, the light will remember my name.
